For field service

Every technician arrives knowing what your best technician knows

Commercial HVAC, building controls, refrigeration, industrial equipment. If the answer is in a manual, in a job folder, or in the head of someone who has already fixed it once, Tinker puts it in the technician’s hand.

Jobs are how work actually gets organised

A technician is not asking about “chillers”. They are asking about the chiller at 24-381, whose as-builts differ from the manual because of a retrofit in 2019.

Your job numbers, not ours

A job carries the number your company already uses — 24-381, WO-88214, whatever is on the work order — so it is the same thing on the phone and on the screen.

Site documents in one place

Upload the submittals and as-builts straight into the job, attach manuals from your library, or point the job at a Drive or OneDrive folder and let it stay in sync.

Assign the crew

Search a technician by their work email and add them. If they are not in your company yet, invite them from the same screen — they land on the job automatically when they accept.

Answers scoped to the site

Questions asked inside a job search that job’s documents and approved fixes first, then your wider library. Another job’s paperwork is never used to answer them.

Pinned where they are needed

A technician’s assigned jobs are pinned in the navigation, so getting from opening the app to asking about the right site is one tap.

Archived, not deleted

Closing a job keeps its documents, its crew, and its history. When the same equipment fails in November, March’s job is still there.

What it changes on a call

The junior technician stops guessing
They ask the question they would have phoned in, and get the manufacturer’s procedure with the page it came from — plus whatever your own team has already learned about that equipment.
The senior technician stops being a hotline
The answers they have been giving over the phone for years are in the approved fixes, cited and searchable, and they get their afternoon back.
The office stops relaying
Nobody has to find a PDF, screenshot page 118, and text it to a roof.
The knowledge stops walking out
When a technician retires or leaves, what they knew is in the approved fixes, attributed and reviewed, instead of leaving with them.

Questions from service managers

Which trades is Tinker Assist for?

Any field service trade whose work is documented in equipment manuals: commercial HVAC and refrigeration, building automation and controls, industrial and process equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, elevators and conveyance, and facility maintenance teams.

Do we need a particular field service management system?

No. Tinker Assist sits alongside whatever you use for dispatch and work orders. It is about the documentation and the knowledge, not the scheduling.

What does a job look like in Tinker?

A job has your own job number, a name, an optional description, the technicians assigned to it, and its documents — uploaded directly, attached from your library, or synced from a cloud folder. Technicians see only the jobs they are assigned to.

Can a manual be on more than one job?

Yes, and it should be. Attaching a manual to a job links it rather than copying it, so one Trane chiller manual can serve every chiller job you run, and updating it updates it everywhere.

See it on your own manuals

We will set up a pilot with your documentation, your technicians, and your equipment — so you are judging Tinker on your own work, not on a demo dataset.
